To start off I have finished the Season Square Series with these 2 designs:

"AUTUMN APPLES" ~~ A whimiscal trio of crows has found their treats for the day. However, one of these silly birds has bitten (or eaten) off more than he can chew! After polishing off 2 big apples, one of our trio is laying down with an overly stuffed tummy. His friends, who are sitting on the remnants of his snacks, are looking down at him in amazement. I wonder what is going through their minds . . . This charming design is bordered with rich, ripe apples (more for that silly crow to eat!)STITCH COUNT: 84 X 80 HARD COPY: $6.75 PDF: $5.00

"WINTER SNOW" ~~ A very happy SnowMan is enjoying this very frosty, snow's a blowin' day. Two orange colored butterflies, with their gorgeous wings spread wide, gently glide around the delicate vines, while a few ladybugs rest on the lush green leaves of the flower. The bunnies and chicks will be back soon along with their babies, the flowers are just starting to emerge from their very long winter's nap. I so enjoy waking up to the sun shining through my windows and the cheerful sounds of the early birds singing.

"SPRING WINDOW" ~~ Wouldn't it be wonderful, to look out your window in the morning and see these charming characters looking in!! Five chicks are looking through your brightly colored window frame; 4 of them, cheek to cheek in the lower panes, and one silly but smart chick is peeking in from the top..upside down! Your gorgeous, blossoming spring daisies have finally grown tall enough, that you can enjoy them through your window too! When the chicks leave, 3 mischievous bunnies come for a visit at a different window, hoping to see if you are getting ready to leave their carrots outside. One is wearing a silly grin (hmm, think he sees those carrots), one has a worrisome look of being discovered, and the third is hanging upside down, most likely from the tree branches. Two Robins have graced your tree and are singing their delightful morning songs.

One is absorbing the fresh scent of a recently bloomed daisy, while butterflies twitter about in the air. The second peep is curious and is greeting a fellow spring critter, a worm! A beautiful finish from Susan. She stitched the design on preforated paper, put felt on the back, and sewed a piece of burlap string to hold the greeting card onto the box of chocolates. Neat idea Susan!

This is a finish by Moyrah. I love how she changed the colors. She also used Rainbow Glissen in the hat and the snowflakes. Great job Moyrah!

Another finish is from Mary I. Stitching Forever...Housework Never! Isn't that the way we all feel?? Great job Mary! Love how you finished it.

Please join us for the fun at the Counted Wishes Cross Stitch Festival. Here are my newest designs I have in the show. Hope you will take time to stop by and order that pattern "you can't live without". :)

"CAUTION--THE CATS!" DOOR HANGER~~ A definate stitch for all households owned by "indoor" cats. They can look charming, innocent and at times pathetic, as they wait by the door for their chance to sneak out of the house and have an outdoor adventure. These 2 whimsical looking cats, along with their lil grey mouse friend, will try their best to hide by the door for that split second chance at freedom! Those entering/exiting cat households must always proceed with caution!!

"THE CAT--CAUTION!" DOOR HANGER ~~ An alternative piece for those single cat families! How many times have you heard "Don't let the cat out!" No matter how convincing the furball may be, always remember this caution!!!

"FOUR CATS & A MOUSE!" ~~ 4 whimsical cats along with their lil friend, the grey mouse, are mischievously sitting in front of a white picket fence laced with green ivy leaves. What are they up to?? From the middle "grey tiger striped" cat to the friends joining him; an orange tabby, a pumpkin colored tiger and a small black and white kitten, their impish yet innocent smiles makes one wonder, just what are they thinking? or planning?

"BRING ON SPRING" ~~ You know winter has been toooooooo long when even the snowmen are ready for spring! A comically unhappy snowman, with his shades of green hat and scarf, has had enough of snow. He's wishing all the crystalized pretties would go away because he's frozen and his snowballs are freezing!

"TEA FOR THREE" ~~ Three best friends spend an lovely spring afternoon, sharing secrets and laughter over tea and cookies under a freshly bloomed tree. A little girl *inspired by my granddaughter* is dressed in her Sunday best, including her straw hat and big pink bow. She is joined at her enchanting tea table with her best friends, Mr. Rabbit dressed in his damper bow tie and Mrs. Bear. All three are enjoying their cookies and tea while surrounded by fluttering butterflies, chirping birds and a squirrel hoping for a crumb or 2! This is an adorable chart for any daughter or grand-daughter.

"THINK SPRING" ~~ The Easter Bunny is coming! This charming brown bunny is thinking and planning spring. He's sitting on the edge of flower box which contains a yellow and a red "just bloomed" tulips. Joining him are a few colorful butterflies and 2 friendly robins.

"SPRING GATHERING" ~~ Is anyone sick of winter and snow yet? I am! Feels like SD has had winter FOREVER! This delightful "SPRING" chart is stitched in gorgeous pastel colors. Robins are abound, looking for worms, feed the babies in their nests. The word "spring" which is stitched in a lovely shades of turquoise/green , is accented with colorful spring flowers and butterflies.

"HOME OF THE BRAVE" ~~ A sweet patriotic quaker styled sampler, to remind us of those who are protecting our precious Freedom. "Home of the Free, Thanks to the Brave" is adorned with easy to stitch quaker motiffs. This design can be stitched with one color or with the suggested DMC's and/or Sulkythreads as shown in our models and finished into pillows, wall hangings, tucks or no sew cubes. Thank you Dee G. and Mary I. for your wonderful job on the models.

"I LOVE HUGS" ~~ The PERFECT companion piece to "After 50". Another quick stitch, this whimsical saying has probably been said in 99% of households in the world! "I love hugs, I love kisses, but I'd really love is help with the dishes!!" This world known phrase is decorated with dainty hearts and green leaves.

"AFTER 50" ~~ Does life begin at 50? A quick to stitch whimsical sampler claims for all stitchers who are 50+. No *red hats* here, just an ol' fashioned coffee pot, with it's heavenly scented aroma wafting through the air, along with dainty flowers and ivy leaves. After all, after 50, all that does perk is the coffee :) Thank you Linda S. for stitching this so nicely for me.

"SHAMROCK CIRCLE" ~~ St Patrick's Day is just around corner and what better way to celebrate than to have a lil "Irish Luck" on your side! An enchanted lucky four leaf clover is surrounded by a circle of rich green shamrocks! A quick, perfect gift for anyone! This design is stitched in Sulky threads but as always the DMC conversion is included .

"ROSE'S NEEDLEBOOK" ~~ 3 beautiful quaker style roses, rose, pink and yellow along with their matching rosebuds create this stunning needlebook. Add a couple of blue butterflies and you have an exquisite needlebook! This design is stitched in Sulky threads but as always the DMC conversion is included . Design can also be finished into a pillow, tuck or wall hanging.Thank you Sandi R. for your beautiful model stitching.

My good friend Sherry B. of Alberta,Canada started a whole new craze in cross stitching using Sulky Blendable quilting/sewing thread. It is a beautiful variegated thread. It can be found at your local sewing/quilting store or online. Just do some searching around the web to find them. They are gorgeous. I've designed a few things using these threads but of course a DMC conversion is always included.

I will soon be releasing my new designs for Christmas. I've done up some little ornaments and a pretty Noel Pillow. Also designed a few patterns for you to try out Sulky threads which are all the rave now. Of course you can still use DMC floss if you chose to. I always supply the conversion.

Here's a sneak preview of 2 of the ornaments called "Outside The Peppermint Window". A little penguin and snowman peeking in to see what Santa left under the tree.

I also have 2 gingerbread men ornaments coming. I hope you will like them.

Discovery of a new stitching thread!

My dear friend in Canada, Sherry B., started a whole new idea *for me anyway* of stitching with a quilting thread. It's called Sulky. You can find it in your local quilting shop or online. Let Google be your friend :) It's a beautiful variegated thread and you can get it in many colors.

I did this design called "Holiday Kaleidoscope" and Sherry stitched it up using 25 count black Lugana. She added gold beads. How pretty it turned out. Thank you Sherry for making this design so pretty.

New Halloween Designs...

WELCOME TO THE VEEANDCO HAUNTED VILLAGE!
Enter, if you dare, the spooky village in South Dakota, where bats fly freely, ghosts emit eerie cries, pumpkins wear grins and bones jangle creepily in the night.

Black Cats and Bats...stitch count 105W X 59H
As you enter the village, beware of the black Halloween cats! Their best friends are bats! This quick to stitch design spells "Halloween" with an interesting twist. One black cat is helping to spell the word Halloween and one is trying his best to frighten you by hiding in the word Halloween. With their batty friends swirly above, a witch's hat and a spider or 2, they are hoping you have a frightening evening.

Halloween Fun...stitch count 64W X 81H
As you continue your walk through the eastern part of the village, you find the pumpkin patch. You are greeted by 2 darling, wide-eyed "innocent" looking ghostly sitting upon a cute as can be pumpkin. But don't be fooled by their sweet faces. They are holding a sign, enticing you to "Join the fun, bring you own Boos"...hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

Mr. Bone Jangles...stitch count 134W X 119H
As you hurriedly walk past the graveyard, you hear a strange sound. Ghostly music mixed with "clinking, jingling" sounds invade your ears. You gaze south over the rickety cemetery fence and low and behold you freeze! To your delight, or possible chagrin, you witness a sight you've never seen before! Dressed in purple gloves and boots, Mr. Bone Jangles, a musically inclined graveyard skeleton is dancing around the pumpkins and headstones. With every move, his boney body creaks and jangles. As he spots you, he bestows you with a toothy grin and tips his hat as he continues his macabre dance.

Simply Boo...stitch count 74W X 71H

Uh oh! You were fooled by the friendly ghosts and entered the pumpkin patch in the hopes of finding some Halloween fun and a pumpkin or two to take home. However, as you meander you way amongst the pumpkins, you hear ghostly boo's along with ear shattering catty meows. You look toward where the skin-crawling sound is coming from and your heart stops! You see a hauntingly grinning pumpkin and his equally frightening companion, a black cat. Both of them want to scare the ebbie jebbies out of you! Thank you Dee G. for stitching this up and framing!

Spook Pair...stitch count 66W X 64H

Across the road a bit, you find a spooky pair of friends hanging out on the corner. A huge, plump pumpkin, with his big toothy grin, is letting his adorable spider friend play amongst his leafy hair. This charmingly spooky pair can be finished into a no sew cube, pillow/tuck or banner. Many thanks to Carol B. for her beautifully stitching!

The Boo Gang...stitch count 70W X 84H

As you head north through the village, you come upon a delightful scene. The "friendly" ghost just can't resist making "rabbit ears" behind one of the pumpkins :). In front of the ghost are 3 silly pumpkins, 2 of which think they are very dapper sporting their fedora hats! Underneath the pumpkins, 2 spiders are hanging out in the "Boo". Thank you Linda S. for your beautiful model stitching.

Halloween Sampler...stitch count 123W X 76H

Before leaving the VeeandCo Haunted Village, you stop at the local cross stitch shop in hopes of finding the perfect design to commemorate your ghostly visit. And alas, you do indeed find it! The Halloween sampler is filled with all the sights you have seen tonight; the pumpkin patch, the graveyard, skeletons and black cats. Even the lil "Spook Inn" with it's ghostly guests watching from the chimney and windows; which you quickly ran past! A super Halloween sampler to remember a super night!

Thinking PATRIOTIC I have "Flying Red,White and Blue" and "Summer In The USA". Both designs are "quick to stitch". Joni M. has done a beautiful job stitching and finishing both of these.

Two Finishes for New Release Designs

I just put the finishing touches on 2 of my new designs soon to be released. The first one works well for a stitching box or a wall hanging. It is called "Just One More Stitch". The second one is "Awww...Life Is Good". I finished it into a pillow.

My newest designs should be ready for publish in a few weeks. Here's a sneak preview of some of them.

I was asked to do these 2 designs for a girl wanting them for children quilts. I hope she likes them :)

This next design is called "Sweet Honey". Just in time for summer, this pattern comes in 3 different forms...a bell pull *shown below*, a wall hanging and a smaller version for that special stitching box topper. There is also a companion to this called "Sweet Luck". It contains those lucky ladybugs and strawberries.

These are Sandi's Winged Beauties II. They are stitched with Carrie's threads.

Several years ago I painted a birdhouse for my sister with a kitty laying on the platform. I decided I wanted one in my house also so I designed it in cross stitch :) It is called "Awww...Life Is Good". I'm not sure that lil birdie feels that way :)

I just finished making this for a gift. If you would like the pattern you can find it on the right side under complimentary gifts. The center of the butterfly is done with black headed pins. There are also white headed pins added by each strawberry.

I have just added most of my past complimentary charts. You will find them on the right hand side. To open them in a different window just right click on the title of the one you want and choose "open in new window". This seems to be the easiest way so you don't have to keeping clicking the "back" button.

Cupcake Pin Cushion Lovers:

I have designed this special bunny for a dear friend of mine for Easter. The Easter Bunny has delivered all his eggs and is finally on his way home.
To save and print out just right click on the picture and select "Save As" and place it where you can find it in your files on your computer. I hope you enjoy stitching it.

Easter is on it way and my *bears* have been busy getting geared up for the Easter Bunny to arrive. They have dressed themselves up like bunnies and began painting their eggs. Again there is always that mischievous one out of control. What a mess he is making to the back side of this egg! Good thing you only see what the other two bears have done. :)

I just put the final stitches in this a day ago. I'm thinking of making it into a pillow or a no sew cube.

"And you think you're having a bad day?" Do you always feel like you are the worm in this next design? After hearing about my dear friend having so many bad days in a row I designed this special for her :)

"Spring Sampler" is also now available. This is the 3rd in my Season Samplers. It's full of bright cheery spring things....tulips and baby birds are just a few.

"Ladybug Love" is a whimsical design of two *lovebugs* swinging gently in the spring breeze. The cherry blossoms are at full bloom and the branches from the cherry tree gladly welcome the ladybugs swing.

So many of us have loved ones with cancer *me included*. A dear friend emailed me asking if I would do this design as she wanted it for a special person in her life who loves coffee and is fighting breast cancer.

Sandi's Winged Beauties were stitched by my sister Sandi who hates to backstitch. I designed them especially for her.

My Febuary Releases

My Febuary releases I tried something new. My sister who hates back stitching, has never stitched any of my designs so these new releases were done especially for her. NO BACK STITCHING!

I had Spring in mind and remembered my sons delightful Garden Gate that he built. My dear DIL Sara planted beautiful flowers all around the gate. This was my inspiration to these designs. My favorite Spring bird is the robin so they certainly had to be a part of this.

The first one is simple called "Garden Gate". Joni M. did a beautiful job of model stitching it for me. I finished it off by making a turned down corner pillow.

The second design is called "Bath Time". Everyone should have a bird bath in their flower garden so they can watch the robins clean themselves :)

Shirl M. did a wonderful job model stitch this piece. Again I turned it into a pillow.

Third I have done "Feeding Time". Spring is the time of year when those baby robins have hatched out and need alot of nurturing from mom and dad to grow big and fly out of the nest.

A few other designs that I just released are "Spring Duckling" and "Spring Bunny". These make excellant quilt squares. You can see them at my website. Just click on the lil bee wrapped tightly in his flower bed. They can be found in the "What's New" forum.
